All of our personnel participated in a very thorough CERT Training to develop their response skills and preparedness in case of an emergency.
The Community Emergency Response Team (CERT) program educates volunteers about disaster preparedness for the hazards that may impact their area and trains them in basic disaster response skills, such as fire safety, light search and rescue, team organization, and disaster medical operations. We felt it was important for our personnel to be CERT trained because of the great responsibility we have with our students and school community. This trained us to respond safely, responsibly, and effectively to emergency situations, but we are also able to support our community during non-emergency events as well.
"We felt it was important for our personnel to be CERT trained because of the great responsibility we have with our students and school community."
The training is designed through hands-on practice and realistic exercises so we were able to learn how to safely respond to manmade and natural hazards and help organize basic disaster response. For our training, we had the most wonderful volunteer actors and total participation of the Dorado Academy staff. It was a complete success.
